Third Circular

Dear Colleague,
This is the last circular for the Ninth International Spring Seminar on Nuclear Physics.

SCIENTIFIC PROGRAM

The program of the Seminar will consist of "overview" talks and more specialized seminars.

PRESENTATION

Length of talks, including 5 minutes for discussion:

- "Overview" talks    30 minutes
- Seminars               20 minutes

Talks
Talks can be presented using an LCD video projector or an overhead transparency projector. The files with your presentation (Power Point or PDF) should be made available to the conference secretariat the day before the talk, using one of the standard storage tools (CDROM, USB memory stick). Presenters may use their own notebook only if previously agreed with the conference organization.

Posters
Posters should not exceed a heigth of 90 cm and a width of 60 cm. A poster session will be held on Monday evening.

PROCEEDINGS

The Seminar proceedings will be published by World Scientific. The cost of one copy of the proceedings is included in the registration fee. The proceedings will contain the text of oral presentations and of all contributions relevant to the Seminar. Contributions will not be included if the contributor does not attend the Seminar. The text of 30-minute talks should not exceed 10 typewritten pages, while that of all other talks and poster contributions should be limited to 8 pages. The publication of the proceedings will use camera-ready manuscripts. The deadline for receipt of manuscripts is July 10, 2007. These should be sent as Latex2e files to the E-mail address covello@na.infn.it and must be prepared making use exclusively of the proceedings style files to be downloaded (Trim Size is 9.00'' x 6.00'') from the World Scientific Web site: http://www.worldscientific.com/style/proceedings_style.shtml.
Please keep in mind that, since publication of the proceedings by January or February 2008 cannot be guaranteed by the Publisher unless the above deadline is strictly observed, no paper arriving later than this date will be accepted. Offprints of each paper can be supplied by the Publisher. Order forms, which also contain the price of offprints, must be mailed together with the manuscript. These will be available at the conference.

REGISTRATION AND ACCOMMODATION

Participants may register and pick up their conference portfolios at the Seminar Secretariat. On Saturday May 19 this will be set up at the Hotel Oriente and will be open from 16:00 to supper time, and thereafter daily until the end of the Seminar. A registration fee of € 250,00 will be charged to all participants at the time of registration. Participants will be given a receipt indicating their payment of the registration fee. Please note that we cannot accept credit cards. Participants will be lodged in three different hotels, Oriente, Aequa, and Astoria. The Hotels Aequa and Astoria are just a few steps from the Hotel Oriente. Information about accommodation will be provided at the Reception Desk of the Hotel Oriente. While breakfast will be served in each hotel, dinner will be served to all participants at the Hotel Oriente. This will provide the opportunity for contacts and small group discussions. The balance due to the Hotels Oriente and Aequa should be paid at the Reception Desk of the Hotel Oriente, while that due to the Hotel Astoria should be paid directly to the hotel. Extras will be paid in each hotel.

TRANSPORT TO VICO EQUENSE

By car
If you travel by car, covering the motorway A2 Rome-Naples you can easily reach A3 Naples-Salerno-Reggio Calabria. You have to leave A3 at Castellammare di Stabia and then take the state road SS145 to Sorrento.

By train
Vico Equense may be easily reached by a local railway system, the CIRCUMVESUVIANA. The Circumvesuviana station in Naples is close to the F.S. (Italian National Railways) Central Station and is connected to it by an underground tapis-roulant. Frequent trains lead to Vico Equense in about one hour.

If you arrive in Naples by plane , there is a convenient bus service operated by the company CURRERI connecting the Airport to Sorrento. The bus leaves from the arrival side of the Airport. The tickets (€ 6,00) can be bought aboard. Please note that you should get off at the Vico Equense stop.
Both the Circumvesuviana Station and the Curreri bus stop are a few steps from the hotels.

Transfer Service
On Saturday May 19 the conference will provide a transfer service from the Airport and the Central Railway Station to Vico Equense. The conference bus will get to the Naples Airport at 17:00 and will wait in front the arrival side until 17:30. Then it will collect participants at the Central Railway Station. The meeting point is in front of the Hotel Terminus which is about 50 meters from the exit of the central Station on the left-hand side. The bus will leave for Vico Equense at 18:15. The trip takes about 45 minutes.

SOCIAL EVENTS

A welcome cocktail will be offered at the Hotel Oriente to participants and accompanying persons on Sunday evening before dinner. An excursion is planned for Tuesday afternoon. The Seminar dinner will take place on Wednesday evening. More information about this and other social events will be given at the beginning of the Seminar.
